Apex PeakFest

Weekend Roundup for the Family: May 4th – May 6th

Annual Wake County Public Library Book Sale

Thursday, May 3rd – Sunday, May 6th.  Expo Center at the State Fairgrounds, Raleigh

Find your favorite reads (paperback and hardback) at discounted prices. All funds go back into Wake County libraries, school and agencies. Great time to bring the kiddos to pick out two or three of their favorite books!

First Fridays in Downtown Raleigh

Friday, May 4th.  Downtown Raleigh 

This is a great time to venture into Downtown Raleigh where there is a line-up of concerts, shopping events, art showings, dinner specials and much more. 

Star Wars Night at the Durham Bulls Game

Friday, May 4th.  Game starts at 7:00 p.m.  Durham Bulls Baseball Stadium, Durham

Celebrate Star Wars and baseball all in one night! Your favorite Star Wars characters will be out and about during the game along with Friday night fireworks and Food Trucks.

38th Annual Apex PeakFest

Saturday, May 5th.  9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Historic Downtown Apex

Celebrate the Peak of Good Living with fun, food and fellowship! Live music, fair food, artists from all over showcases their artwork, jewelry, pottery, watercolor, etc., and lots of fun activities for the kids. 

Bike Rodeo

Saturday, May 5th.  11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Marbles Kids Museum, Raleigh

Bring your wheels (bike or trike) and a helmet, of course, because Marbles is teaching kiddos bike safety with obstacles courses, helmet checks, a Bike Bling station, raffles and more.  There is even a station where you can drop off those bikes and helmets you’ve outgrown. 

Fest in the West

Saturday, May 5th.  11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  USA National Training Complex, Cary

Food Trucks, a kids zone, local craft brewers in a Beer Garden, and Arts & Crafts Village, live music, a pie-eating contest and much more.

Art in Bloom

Saturday, May 5th – Sunday, May 6th.  8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Historic Yates Mill County Park, Raleigh

It’s the season of flowers! Get inspired by all the flowers adorning the park and make paper flowers to decorate the Finley Center. For all ages.
