In addition to tons of Easter Egg Hunts around the Triangle (My family will be at The Town of Garner’s Spring EGGstravaganza at Lake Benson Park!) – there are lots of fun activities this weekend, especially for moms! If you’re a new or expecting mom remember to get your tickets to our Bloom Event on Saturday, May 12th from 9am-12pm at WakeMed North Women’s Hospital in Raleigh for a morning of pampering, fun, learning, giveaways and much more.
March 21st – 23rd. 9:00 am – 2:00pm Located at the NCSU Beef Educational Unit, Raleigh
The event is free, and allows kids to touch animals – including turkeys, ducks, chicks, pigs, and sheep, and see animals, like horses, and beef/dairy cows! There are tractors that kids can climb on; quick presentations every hour about agriculture; an area for picnics, kids can practice roping, and free ice cream from NC State’s Howling Cow! This event should take you an hour to move through all the exhibits. Please visit their website in advance to review openings.
March 22nd – March 25th. 9:00 am – 5:00 pm NC Art Museum.
The scavenger hunt for families will be Saturday, March 24th from 9am – 5pm
This is the 4th annual festival of art and flowers! Art in Bloom features 50+ floral works of art created by world-class designers inspired by art in the Museum. During the festival, participants can attend presentations and workshops, dine in Iris, and find original gifts in the gift shop. Proceeds from Art in Bloom support Museum programming and exhibitions. The Raleigh Moms Blog team even had chance to go behind the scenes to watch these amazing artists create their floral masterpieces. See here.
March 24th. 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Goldfish Swim School – Wake Forest

Join us for a Pop-Up Playdate at Goldfish Swim School in Wake Forest as families enjoy a shiver-free swim in this tropical climate indoor pool (90-degree water), take pics at the underwater themed photo booth, enjoy a fishy craft station, meet Bubbles the Mascot and more. Ticket are $5.22 per family and must be purchased in advance. Tickets will not be sold on site.
There is even room in the shade for the smallest family members to enjoy themselves.
March 24th. 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm Carolina Pines Park, Raleigh
Searching for ‘The Best Tamale in Raleigh’! Join in this celebration of the Latino culture This event is free and open to the public. The festival includes a tamale competition, informational booths, food vendors, games, live music and authentic entertainment for the whole family.
Wake County Public Libraries Events – check your closest library for ongoing events!
There are baby, toddler and family story times, craft workshops, family movie showings and lots more! This Saturday at West Regional Library, Raleigh Little Theatre‘s troupe of young actors tell the story of the big bad wolf on trial! Also on Saturday, the Triangle Youth Philharmonic String Quartet will perform “The Story of Rapunzel” at Cameron Village Regional Library. Sunday, Southeast Regional Library will be showing “Goosebumps!
