The State Farmer’s Market in Raleigh is a great place to spend a few hours with the whole family! The market is set up in multiple buildings with the best local produce, plants, herbs, seafood, and more! The kids will love sampling the best fruits and veggies from local farmers and you’ll love knowing where your food is coming from!
The selection at the Farmer’s Market is incredible and everything is fresh! Grocery stores will leave you wondering how long the produce has been sitting on the shelves and how long it will last when you get home. When you shop at the Farmer’s Market, you can talk to the growers, ask for recipe and storage suggestions, and know that you are helping to support real families in our community!
My preschooler and I love to take trips picking out our favorite apples, strawberries, and fresh veggies for dinner in the Farmer’s Building! We always make sure to visit the Market Shoppes for fresh baked treats and the candy bins. But no trip is complete without a meal at the State Farmer’s Market Restaurant!
Each meal starts with buttery, fresh made biscuits and hush puppies. The daily specials are so hard to choose from because they all sound (and taste!) amazing! Even better, they serve breakfast all day! If you love real, southern cooking, you have to visit the Farmer’s Market Restaurant!
In the late spring through the early fall, watch for special events like strawberry or watermelon days (plus many other special days!) where the market is full of free samples, recipes, and special events catered to the theme of the day! These days are the perfect way to introduce your little ones to the local produce!
