Ready to be immersed in a one-of-a kind art experience? If you haven’t heard the You Are Here: Light, Color and Sound Experiences at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh has been providing guests with an interactive experience from 15 contemporary artists, including large-scale light works, sound installations, video works, mixed-media room-size environments, and site-specific projects.
Grab a friend or bring the family because now it’s your turn to become a part of the art with a FREE Day at the NCMA’s You Are Here: Light, Color and Sound Experiences on Monday, July 2nd sponsored by Duke Energy. Usually closed on Mondays NCMA is opening its East Building up for ticketed visitors just for this special showing. Free tickets to the exhibit must be reserved in advance starting on Monday, June 25th.

WHEN: Monday, July 2nd. Noon – 8:00 p.m.
WHERE: North Carolina Museum of Art’s East Building, Raleigh
COST: FREE – Go online HERE and reserve your FREE Tickets in advance starting Monday, June 25th. Everyone must have a ticket to enter including children ages 6 years and under. There are limited number of tickets so hurry and reserve your ticket.

You Are Here presents pioneering video, light, and sound installations by Bill Viola, James Turrell, Janet Cardiff, Olafur Eliasson, and Ragnar Kjartansson. Works by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Jim Campbell, and Theo Eshetu employ experimental technology, custom electronics, and digital media. Mixed-media installations by Anila Quayyum Agha, Soo Sunny Park, Mickalene Thomas, and Heather Gordon use low-tech, nontraditional materials. You Are Here also takes visitors outdoors to explore an interactive sculpture bySam Falls. A stunning permanent collection acquisition by Yayoi Kusama debuted as part of the exhibition as well.
