Conservator’s Center Pumpkin Prowl

Pumpkin Prowl 2017
Grab a coat and a friend, and join us on Saturday, November 11th for our annual Pumpkin Prowl, the most unique way to celebrate autumn in North Carolina!
Join us in selecting, decorating, and carving the pumpkins, while enjoying food and drinks from local vendors.  Then we decorate our animals’ enclosures with stuffed, scented, or painted pumpkins to celebrate the season. Our animals love finding these new fascinating items in their habitats, and we enjoy watching as they investigate their gifts.
Enjoy food and drink from our favorite vendors, and join us in selecting, decorating, and carving the pumpkins; then watch as our keepers decorate our animals’ enclosures and introduce our animals to an autumn wonderland.  
At Pumpkin Prowl, you’ll also have the option of learning interesting tidbits about how we care for our animal residents from the trained handlers and keepers at the Conservators Center!

Conservator’s Center Pumpkin Prowl

Celebrate autumn in the wildest way imaginable: our annual Pumpkin Prowl event!
Pumpkins are a hot commodity in the autumn. From pumpkin pie to pumpkin spiced lattes, everyone wants to get their paws on them. No one knows how to celebrate pumpkin season better than the residents of the Conservators Center!

Have you ever wondered how we train Arthur Tiger to touch a target, or why it’s important to be able to check a wolf’s paws and ears, or what caracals like to eat for snacks? At Pumpkin Prowl, while you watch the animals explore their treats at your own pace, you can also learn interesting facts about how we care for our animal residents from our keepers and trained handlers at the Conservators Center!

Sammy Day

The City of Raleigh Museum is hosting a community day celebrating our mascot Sammy the Squirrel! Throughout the day we will have fun games and activities the whole family can enjoy! Come out and learn about squirrels from local wildlife officers, read a story with Sammy, grow your own oak tree, make a squirrel feeder, play some games, and more! The event is free and open to the public.

This three-day extravaganza features music, food and dance from around the world. More than 60 ethnic groups, 25 international food vendors, non-stop music and world-bazaar shopping will all be under one roof. Great for the entire family, there will be lots of children’s activities and booths to learn about world cultures.

Each day will have unique performances including a dance competition, fashion show, cooking demonstrations and a weddings-around-the-world presentation. Enjoy the biergarten featuring international techniques and flavors from local breweries or desserts and coffees with an international flair.
