With the strong patient focus and attention to detail that Davis & Pyle has always offered those who enter their doors, there is no doubt that Dr. Glenn Davis and Dr. Jeremy Pyle have also selected Dr. Wood with great attention and care. Dr. Wood is actually a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, and a North Carolina native. He is returning back to his home state after practicing in Washington, D.C. among some of the top leaders in their field.

“I have known Dr. Wood for more than a decade and can attest to his work ethic, surgical skill and deep commitment to his profession. Patients trust him in the operating room because he consistently chooses excellence over status quo,” said Jeremy Pyle, M.D., F.A.C.S. “We are proud to welcome him to our team and look forward to his future contributions.”

It is no wonder that the Davis & Pyle’s practice here in Raleigh is growing. Not only are they known as one of the Triangle’s premiere plastic surgery centers, using the most advanced technology and techniques available, but plastic surgery in general is on the rise.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), plastic surgery procedures performed have risen 115% in the past 15 years. *In 2015, the top 5 cosmetic surgical procedures were:

  1. Breast augmentation

  2. Liposuction

  3. Nose reshaping

  4. Eyelid surgery

  5. Tummy tuck

And the top 5 minimally invasive procedures performed were:

  1. Botulinnum Toxin Type A (like Botox® or Dysport®)

  2. Soft Tissue Fillers

  3. Chemical Peels

  4. Laser hair removal

  5. Microdermabrasion

Not surprisingly, moms are a large part of this increase. **Since 2011, the number of moms seeking plastic surgery has also been on the rise. Procedures like “mommy makeovers”, which typically involves a breast augmentation, tummy tuck and liposuction, are helping women reclaim their bodies after children.  Plastic surgery is no longer taboo. More and more women are not afraid to have surgery or talk about it, and with advances in medical technology and surgical techniques, cosmetic procedures are safer and quicker to recover from than ever.

Dr. Wood brings with him a broad experience in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He completed his residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, as well as a Fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Most recently, Dr. Wood was an Assistant Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at George Washington University.

“Our practice is experiencing steady growth, and as we continue to put patient needs at the forefront of our decision making, we knew that adding Dr. Wood was the right move,” said Glenn Davis, M.D., F.A.C.S., co-owner and founder of Davis & Pyle Plastic Surgery. “His experience combined with his approach to patient care make him a good fit for our new and existing patients.”
