Are you ready to settle into a month of Fall Fun this November? I have to say November is one of my favorite months here in the Raleigh area.  Parades, festivals, family swim events, Thanksgiving celebrations, holiday shows and more are always a special treat. November 9th & 10th ::  Family Art Workshop at the JC Raulston Arboretum. Create beautiful garden lights to add to your home or garden. Purchase tickets and register in advance. This workshop is inspired by the Arboretum’s Moonlight in the Garden event. 

November 10th – 12th ::  Veteran’s Day at the NC Zoo. To show appreciation to all Veterans and their families the zoo is offering military free admission and $2 off admission for up to six guests. See website for details.

Check out these important tips to help your family show gratitude to our Veterans this Veterans Day. 

November 11th :: Celebrate Veteran’s Days with your family at the annual NC Veteran’s Day Parade. The parade starts at 9:00 a.m. on S. South Salisbury Street between Martin St. and Lenoir St. 

 

 

 

November 11th :: Star Families – Native American Sky Stories at Morehead Planetarium is sharing night sky stories passed down from Cherokee and other Native Americans about the Big Dipper, North Star, Pleiades, and Milky Way. 

November 14th :: STEM Career Showcase for Students with Disabilities at the Museum of Natural Science from 10am – 1pm. This annual educational event allows families to meet role models with disabilities who have thriving careers in STEM fields.  Registration is required.

Pop-up Parkhop Playdate in November - Raleigh Moms Blog

Join in for a whimsical Playdate on November 15th at Sassafras All Children’s Playground.

November 15th ::  Pop-Up Parkhop Playdate with RMB & Baby+Company at Sassafras All Children’s Playground at Laurel Hills Park in Raleigh. Free event runs from 10am-1pm and features a fun Mom & Little Yoga Session with Little Guru Kids Yoga. Register here and enjoy a fun afternoon of play, giggles, and new friends. November 18th :: Raleigh Christmas Parade is back again ready to kick off the holiday season. Starts at 9:40 a.m. Visit their website to map out the route and grab your seat early!

November 18th ::  Kids Code at Marbles Museum from 1pm-4pm. Kids will experience coding with hands-on activities from tinkering with computer parts, programming a human robot and more. 

November 18th ::  Celebrate art, hiking, science and more at the Triangle Volksmarch. Families can enjoy a self-paced walking challenge for all ages. Travel around the Capital Area Greenway collecting stamps at stations and earn a patch upon completion. There are also special events along the trail. 

November 18th :: 22nd Annual American Indian Celebration from 11am – 4pm at the NC Museum of History will be a day filled with musicians, dancers, artists, storytellers and authors from North Carolina’s Eight State-Recognized Tribes. A family event that all ages will enjoy!

November 18th – 19th :: Repticon Raleigh Reptile & Exotic Animal Show is returning to town. Bring your big and little reptile fans for a day of fun with live animal seminars, raffle prizes, family-oriented educational fun and more.  Visit their website to learn more. 

November 22nd ::  The Polar Express with the NC Symphony is bringing this classic tale to life. Families will see paintings from the award-winning book on the screen above the stage as a narrator and chorus of children join the Symphony to share the magical music from this tale. Arrive early for Santa Meet-Ups, kid-friendly activities, sing-a-longs and more. Learn more about how your family can bring your favorite “Soup-to-Go” to support the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Backpack Buddies. 

November 24th  – 26th::  Art in the Park-Thankfulness Project is bringing a collaborative community art project to families this season. Stop by the Finley Center and enjoy games, art and more with the theme of showing ‘Thanks’. Free program, no registration required. 

November 24th – January 14th ::  The NC Chinese Lantern Festival is back at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. Spectacular light displays, vendors, holiday treats/beverages and cultural performances. Click for ticket prices and times.

November 24th – December 24th ::  Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Musical – Broadway Series South. This classic tv series comes to life on stage. Check their website for times and ticket pricing. 

November 29th :: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the new Goldfish Swim School of Cary from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Families will enjoy a FREE family open swim, a chance to meet Bubbles the mascot, tour the facility and enjoy light refreshments. Keep the fun going and stop in at the Grand Opening Party on December 2nd  from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. with a free family swim, balloon twisting, a photobooth, arts & crafts, refreshments and more.
