10 Things The Ladies At Raleigh Moms Blog Love To Buy At Costco

We wrote this post to help promote our  event sponsored by Costco – Costco Mom Hour, that is taking place on November 13th at 9am in the Raleigh and Durham Costco locations.

I don’t think that I have met a mom yet that doesn’t love shopping at Costco. There are plenty of shopping choices around here when it comes to shopping, but it seems clear that with locations in Raleigh, Durham and soon-to-be Apex, that Costco is a winner with moms throughout the Triangle. So why is that? Odds are they must be stocking something beyond bulk toilet paper and gallon jars of pickles…so I pooled the lovely ladies of RMB to find out what it is that makes Costco standout the most for us:

10 Things The Ladies At Raleigh Moms Blog Love to Buy At Costco

  1. Gas :: Gas prices may have gone down recently, but at Costco, the gas prices are always good. The best part? You can top of your tank AND get groceries all in one place. Multi-tasking at its finest.
  2. Snacks :: Some of us may or may not confess to popping open a case of Pirate’s Booty before we have left the parking lot, but that is besides the point; if you are looking for a wide variety of healthy-ish snacks to keep in the pantry or pack in lunches, the selection at Costco can’t be beat. We are continually excited to see brands we would only expect to see in natural food chains on their shelves.
  3. Organic Meats :: While we are on the subject of healthier eating…did you know Costco stocks a great selection of organic meat? We all know how the price of meat can add up at the grocery store, particularly if you are buying organic. Stock up on bigger packages and freeze your meal portions. Not only is it more cost effective, it saves you time during meal prep.
  4. Kirkland Signature Products :: Costco’s own brand – Kirkland, has a whole bunch of great stuff in its product line! The prices can’t be beat and things like their HE laundry detergent made Consumer Reports list of top detergents.
  5. Organic Produce :: Organic fruits and veggies too? Yes ma’am, you can get those at Costco too!
  6. Chicken Pot Pie :: Confess. You know you love this old school favorite! Take a stroll through the deli area…you’ll thank us later.
  7. Diapers and Wipes :: Kirkland Signature brand is again a win for us in both the diaper and wipe category. Affordable and even great for sensitive bums. If you prefer another brand though – there are plenty name brands to choose from..
  8. Medicine :: It is that time of year again. We like to stock up on bigger supplies of things we might use regularly like children’s fever reducer and allergies medicines. You can also find plenty of anti-bacterial products to prevent the sniffles before they start!
  9. Seasonal Decor & Specialty Items :: Wreathes, wrapping paper, ornaments…you name it. Costco always has a great selection of seasonal items. They also rotate a lot of fun new random things that you may not even know you need until you see it. We’ve found things ranging from wall decor to furniture!
  10. Wine :: Um, wine. Does this one even need an explanation? There is a great selection of wine at even better prices at Costco. So, when you get done pumping gas, getting groceries, car pooling to dance class, karate and soccer practice, then make dinner – treat yourself to a glass.
