Looking for some spooky Halloween fun for the family? Here is a roundup of local events that will treat your littles and spook your big kiddos … only just a bit!

Early Release Yoga & Fall Art K-5th Grade

October 20th.  1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Little Guru Kids Yoga, Raleigh

Bring your kiddos during Early Release Day and join in a creepy crawly yoga class and painting a pumpkin to bring home. All supplies included. Cost: $40. Register in advance.

Raleigh Haunted Footsteps Ghost Tour

October 20th & 27th.  7:30 p.m. Downtown Raleigh

Family friendly for children 8+, 1.5 mile walking tour of downtown Raleigh.  Cost: $20 per adult

Creepy Crabtree Celebration at Lake Crabtree Park  

October 21st. 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Lake Crabtree Park, Morrisville

FREE scavenger hunts, crafts, games and outdoor fun. Costumes encouraged!

Movie by Moonlight Halloween Double Feature at Dix Park

October 21st. 6:00 – 11:00 p.m.  Dorothea Dix Park, Raleigh 

Grab your lawn chairs! FREE outdoor movies. Hocus Pocus shows at 7:00 p.m., Shaun of the Dead follows at 9:00 p.m. Food Trucks will be serving also.

Owl-oween Nature Program & Bird Show at Joslin Garden

October 22nd.  2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Joslin Garden, Raleigh  

Family-friendly Halloween themed nature program. Donations accepted.

Halloween Hayrides and Trick or Treat around 1870 Farm       

October 26th – 29th.  1870 Farm, Chapel Hill.

Hayrides, Halloween fun and haunted gemstone mining, too! Cost: $18, 1 Free Adult Ticket included.

Halloween Spooktacular at Flaherty Park Community Center    

October 26th.  4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  Flaherty Park Community Center, Wake Forest

FREE costume contest, face painting, cupcake walk, games, and giveaways. For children 12 and under.

A Walk in the Dark,       

October 28th.  4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  N.C. Museum of History, Raleigh

For all ages. An immersive live theatre experience featuring, pirates, pilots, and pioneers along a lantern-lit walk, detailing NC history. 45-minute walk. Halloween crafts in the lobby. Cost: $8-$10 tickets  

Downtown Cary Harvest Festival

October 28th.  2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Downtown Cary

FREE food trucks, trick or treating, petting zoo, local artisans and more. 

Halloween in the Village with a Movie on the Green

October 29th.  4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  Lafayette Village, Raleigh

FREE trick or treat with participating merchants from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Take out your blankets and chairs and enjoy a Halloween themed movie at 6:30 p.m. Movie TBD.

Vollmer Farm 

Back Forty open Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 677 NC Hwy 98 East, Bunn

Pumpkin patch, hayrides, windmill mountain, pumpkin jump, farm animals and more.  Cost: $10.68
