Cupcakes Done Right + {GIVEAWAY}

Cupcakes Done Right Raleigh Moms Blog

What’s in a cupcake? Sugar and spice and everything nice, of course! Cupcakes are delicious. It is no wonder that so many cupcake shops have popped upHot-Fudge in recent years. This mama happens to fancy herself a cupcake connoisseur and you know what? All cupcakes are not created equal.

Birthday_CakeThe first time I stepped into Smallcakes in Durham, I could tell I was in for a treat. All of their cupcakes are made fresh daily and trust me, you can absolutely taste the difference. The other thing I love is they don’t over frost. The best thing about a cupcake in my mind is that it is the perfect little portion of both cake and frosting.

If the temptation of cake isn’t enough, get ready to melt when you find out that Smallcakes is owned by 3 local dads! Dads that love cupcakes? Are you swooning yet?

I am so glad to see this company grow. While the Durham location is getting ready to celebrate their one-year birthday, Smallcakes Choco_Creamhas also opened a second location in Cary in Parkside Town Commons. If you stop in to visit them, you will always find something new. In addition to their 12 signature flavors that feature treats like Birthday Cake and Hot Fudge Sundae, they also rotate in over 100 specialty flavors each week. Gluten-free? Stop by on a Tuesday or Saturday when their gluten free cupcakes are freshly baked!

Red-VelvetSmallcakes can also handle your custom order, so if you want something special for an upcoming birthday or holiday event, be sure to call ahead! They need at least 3 days for orders that include fondant decorations and at least 2 days for regular orders, but try to give them as much notice as possible, especially during the busy holiday season because everything is baked fresh.

Baking fresh daily sometimes means leftover cupcakes, but don’t worry, those rainbow sprinkles don’t go to waste. What do three Caramel-Crunchcupcake loving dads do with the leftovers? Donate them to local charity organizations (insert swoon here). Visit their FAQ page to find out which local organization receive the cupcakes, along with a variety of other questions answered.

Is your mouth watering yet? Lets celebrate the weekend by giving away some cupcakes! Smallcakes is going to give one lucky winner 2 Dozen Holiday Cupcakes. Who needs cookies? You’ll be the hit of the party!
