Let’s hear it for the weekend!  With all this Spring-like weather upon us, we here at Raleigh Moms Blog are ready for a little family adventure around town. This weekend around Raleigh has something for every age! Celebrate Black History Month with a Family-Friendly Tour at NCMA, take your littles to the Future Me Kids Career Fair or join your teens at the Teen Volunteer Fair at NC Museum of Natural Sciences.  Scroll down and check out a few of our favs and get out there have some family fun!

Weekend Family-Friendly Tours: Celebrate Black History

Saturday, February 24th and Sunday, February 25th.  10:30 a.m.

February is Black History Month. Celebrate Black and African-American artists and stories in the Museum collection. Best for kids ages 5-11 and their adult companions. Cost: FREE

 

Future Me Kids Career Fair at Marbles

Saturday, February 24th. 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Families can enjoy this kid-size career fair, Marbles style. Meet an architect, dentist, engineer and many others representing a wide variety of careers. 

Teen Volunteer Fair at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences

Sunday, February 25th. 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Teens can spend an afternoon learning about volunteer opportunities as a Junior Curator, Junior Volunteer or learn how to serve in the “Teen Science Cafe” or the Teen Newsroom. No registration required.

Family Winter Discovery at the JC Raulston Arboretum

Sunday, February 25th.  2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

For families with children in elementary and middle school.  Compete as a family on a winter scavenger hunt throughout the gardens. Bring your camera or phone to play and document what you find. After you’ve finished the hunt enjoy some fun winter activities. Cost: $15 for Arboretum member family. $20 for non-member families. Register in advance.
