Finally Friday: Raiders of the Lost Ark(PG)

Friday, August 30th.  5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Food, Live Music & Science Stations. 7:30 p.m. Movie begins.  WRAL 3-D Movie Theater. NC Museum of Natural Science, Raleigh

Enjoy a night of live music, food trucks, science stations, and this classic Indiana Jones movie. Cost: $2 per ticket for members. $5 per ticket for non-members. Radical Recess: Beach Blast

African-American Cultural Festival of Raleigh & Wake County

Saturday, August 31st – Sunday, September 1st.  Downtown Raleigh – along Fayetteville Street, from Hargett Street through City Plaza.

FREE event. Enjoy this annual celebration of African-American culture as expressed through art, music, food, and community. This festival brings together diverse people and families with local and national international artists, performers, food vendors, area business owners, and local media outlets. 

Movies at Dix Park: The Incredibles 2 (PG)

Saturday, August 31st.  6:00 p..m. Seating and Food Trucks Open. 7:30 p.m. Movie Begins.  Sunflower Fields – Dorothea Dix Park, Raleigh

FREE event. Registration required. Superheroes under the stars! Kiddos 12 years and under are invited to participate in a Children’s Superhero Parade + Costume Contest before the big show. Families can also enjoy a meet and greet with Batman, Wonder Woman & Spiderman, too! Weekend Family-Friendly Tours: Heroes & Monsters

Saturday, August 31st. 10:30 a.m.  NC Museum of Art, Raleigh

FREE event. Half-hour tours for kids ages 5–11 and their adult companions. Uncover good, evil, and even unreal characters in art from our world and mythological realms.

Durham Central Park’s Food Truck Rodeo

Sunday, September 1st.  12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Durham Central Park

FREE event to attend. Bring your favorite lawn chairs, wallet, and a big appetite. The Triangles’s most popular food trucks will be serving up their best dishes for all ages. Enjoy live music, too! 

Durham Bulls Final Game of the Season + Kids Eat FREE

Monday, September 2nd.  Game starts at 1:05 p.m. Durham Bulls Stadium

The final home game of the season the Bulls will host the Stripers presented by Sigora Solar. Kids Eat Free at Monday’s game, meaning all children 12 and under will receive a free hot dog, bag of chips and small Pepsi product with the purchase of a ticket. Fans looking to redeem the Kids Eat Free offer should visit Lowes Foods Guest Services upon arrival to receive their voucher. 

Family Wildlife Series: Get Ahead of Our Watershed

Monday, September 2nd.  2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Blue Jay Point County Park, Raleigh

FREE event. Have fun and expand your knowledge of the Neuse River! Join Blue Jay staff as they investigate the watershed through activities, games, and music fit for the whole family. Family Wildlife Series programs are usually open to all ages, although information and activities are most appropriate for ages 5 and up.
