Tuesday, October 3rd. 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Target Parking Lot in Beaver Creek Commons, Apex
Free event for the public. An evening of fun, games, food and safety information.
Thursday, October 5th. 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. NC Museum of Natural Sciences, Raleigh
FREE event for all ages. Help the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) investigate a crime science in the Nature Research Center. Travel through the museum investigating the different units in the crime. A scenario and scavenger hunt handout will guide families through each unit. At the end of the night, participants will receive a junior investigator certificate for completing each handout. Register online in advance.
Thursday, October 5th. State Farmers Market, Raleigh
Visit the State Farmers Market and check out the Decorated Pumpkin Contest and vote for your favorite.
Friday, October 6th – Saturday, October 7th. Koka Booth Amphitheatre, Cary
The 4th Annual Triangle Oktoberfest is fundraising event focused on great beer and family fun to support local and regional beneficiaries, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Enjoy live entertainment, a kids zone, food, Weiner Dog Races, local German Beer and more. Cost: $15 per person. 16 years and under are free.
Saturday, October 7th. 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. The Commons of North Hills, Raleigh
Bring the family and shop over 40+ youth-run businesses selling baked goods, jewelry, home decor and more. Free event.
Tuesday, October 10th. 6:00 p.m. DPAC, Durham
Enjoy this interactive theatrical experience with life-size Peppa Pig puppet characters.
Thursday, October 12th – Sunday, October 22nd. NC State Fairgrounds, Raleigh
“Nothing Could Be Finer” than a visit to the N.C. State Fair! Celebrate the 150th edition of the fair with new attractions, performances and more. Enjoy a Pirate themed evening with a pirate puppet show, live music, and child-friendly crafts. No registration required.
Friday, October 13th – Sunday, October 22nd. Daniels Auditorium, NC Museum of History
Come experience a musical performance of the popular book, Grace for President performed by Raleigh Little Theatre. Arrive one hour before the show for a “Grace” inspired gallery hunt in the Museum, create a campaign button and post for a selfie as a future NC Hall of Famer. Discover art throughout the Museum that is created with everyday objects, places, and ideas into something HUGE! Work as a group to create a supersized work of art to take home. For children ages 5-11 years. Cost: $5 for Members, $8 for Non-Members. Tickets can be purchased online.

Celebrate the migration of the Monarch butterfly at this certified waystation for butterflies as they migrate throughout North America. This family-friendly festival will feature activities, science talks, food, and music.

This popular musical takes families to the magical kingdom under the sea with its beloved story and music.
