Warm weather and no rain this weekend?! Yes, to a weekend outdoors! I’m definitely going to a local farm to pick strawberries, and I may take my family to a splash pad or one of our lakes if the sun stays out. If you’re like me and you want to kick off your weekend celebration early then mark your calendars for the Midtown Beach Music Series on Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Enjoy music performed by popular beach bands. This series runs until August.

Family-friendly event. Want to help show the rest of the world just how amazing NC’s citizen scientists are? Join the NC Museum of Natural Sciences for the City Nature Challenge! This competition pits American cities (L.A., Miami, Chicago, Boston and others) against each other to see which area can document the most biodiversity over a four-day period. Help Raleigh win gold by visiting any outdoor space in the Triangle Area, take photos of the plants, animals, and fungi you see, and submit them to iNaturalist via their app or website. There are prizes for the top three local contributors!

Letters are coming to life at Pullen Park . This Letterland event turns letters into colorful characters each with their own personality and story for preschool and school-age children. Bring your littles and visit the park meeting Letterland friends, searching for letters with a Letterland passport book, playing games, enjoying face painting and more!

Part farmer’s market, part craft pop-up, the Downtown Garner Pop Up Market will feature over 40 vendors selling homemade baked goods, handcrafted jewelry, natural bath and body products, home decor, fresh produce and a different food truck every week! This Saturday’s food truck is Jonesy’s Concession & Catering, Inc. This event runs until November 24th.
