Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in Raleigh

Hispanic Heritage Month - Raleigh Moms Blog
Hispanic Heritage Month starts today!  From September 15th to October 15th, Hispanic Heritage Month is a month where we recognize the “histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America” (Library of Congress.)
Why September 15th?  It is the independence day for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, a and Honduras. Additionally, September 16 is Mexico’s independence day and Chile’s independence day.  As a Latina myself, this is a special time to celebrate the richness of our heritage with neighbors. From parades to concerts, read my favorite events happening in and around town for your family to enjoy.
