1. Halloween Hoot at Wake County Public Libraries

Friday, October 25th – Saturday, October 26th  |  Wake County Public Libraries

Visit your favorite local library branch for a Halloween-themed family storytime, costume parade, trick-or-treating, crafts and much more. Visit HERE to learn more about each event. 

2. Boo Bash

Friday, October 25th  | 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  |  Abbott’s Creek Community Center, Raleigh

Get your costume ready and be a part of District 1’s Annual Boo Bash. Trunk-or-treating, FANGtastic games, walk through a Spooky Bus (both scary and non-scary versions available) and more fall fun! 

3. Witches’ Night Out on Salem Street

Friday, October 25th  |  5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  | Downtown Apex

Shop, eat and enjoy some witchy fun on Salem Street. Come early with the family (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.) and stay late with the witches (7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.). Be sure to wear your Witches hat for special discounts at shops on Salem Street. 

4. Town of Cary Howlin’ Good Halloween

Friday, October 25th & Saturday, October 26th 

It’s Halloween time and the Town of Cary is helping families celebrate with a number of events from a Pumpkin Flotilla, Herbert’s Haunted House, Cary’s Great Pumpkin Carve, a Halloween Mall Crawl, Zombiepalooza and more! 

5. Trunk or Treat and a Movie!

Friday, October 25th  | 5:30 p.m. | Knightdale Station Park

Get your costumes ready and come out to Knightdale Station Park’s annual Trunk or Treat with a family movie starting at 7:00 p.m. Food trucks will be on-site, too!

6. Boos and Brews

Saturday, October 26th |  8:00 a.m. – Noon | The Commons at Midtown Farmer’s Market, Raleigh

Spend the morning at the farmer’s market with seasonal beer, fresh local grown food and a morning family-friendly activities – pumpkin bowling, pumpkin decorating, a Waffle Wagon Food Truck, live music, a kids costume parade & contest, a craft beer tasting and much more!

7. Pumpkin Patch Read & Ride Children’s Tour

Saturday, October 26th & Sunday, October 27th  | Visit HERE for Trolley schedule  | The Trolley Lot, Raleigh

Hop aboard The Great Raleigh Trolley and enjoy a ride through Downtown Raleigh with a Halloween themed storytime, character visits, crafts and a visit to the pumpkin patch. You must purchase tickets for this event. 

8.  Halloween Spooktacular: The Composer is Dead

Saturday, October 26th |  1:00 p.m. & 4:00 p.m.  | Meymandi Concert Hall at Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts, Raleigh

Come discover who killed the composer as the Lemony Snicket’s popular children’s book, The Composer is Dead, is brought to life with music by Nathaniel Stookey. Families will enjoy preconcert activities and a costume contest!

9. Trick or Treat at The Mall!

Saturday, October 26th  | 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Triangle Town Center, Raleigh

Trick-or-treat throughout the mall with festive music, giveaways, character visits, pumpkin painting, games, a LIVE mural and much more.

10. Movies at Dix Park – Halloween Double Feature

Saturday, October 26th  | 6:00 p.m.  |  Flowers Field at Dorothea Dix Park, Raleigh

RSVP in advance. Bring money for food trucks! Pack your favorite picnic blanket or camping chairs and enjoy an evening out with Food Trucks and a family-friendly feature movie “The Addams Family”. (An Adult Feature movie, Scream, will show at 8:15 p.m.) 

11. Haunted Mordecai Festival

Saturday, October 26th  | 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  |  Mordecai Historic Park, Raleigh

FREE event. Halloween-themed fun with food, music, games and crafts on the lawn at Mordecai Historic Park. Costume contest for kids up to 16 years olds starting at 1:00 p.m. Ghost Guild, a paranormal investigation group will be site to share their scary findings from the Mordecai House. 

12. HollyFest

Saturday, October 26th  | 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  | Sugg Farm at Bass Lake, Holly Springs

A family-friendly event celebrating all things Holly Springs! Live entertainment, holiday shopping at the Arts & Crafts Alley and Harvest Market, a free Kids Zone, Fire Truck & Police vehicles on display and much more. 

13. Trick-or-Treat the Trail & Trunk or Treat

Saturday, October 26th |  4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | Hatcher Creek Trail, Morrisville Community Park

Come dressed in your favorite costume and trick-or-treat from costumed characters, trunk-or-treat amongst the Town of Morrisville Police & Fire Department cars and don’t forget to bring money for food trucks, too!

14. Zombie Kid Walk 2019 Invades Downtown Raleigh

Saturday, October 26th  | 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  | Nash Square, Raleigh

Come dressed as a zombie for the 13th annual, family-friendly Zombie walk through Downtown Raleigh. Lurch through the streets and enjoy a ghoulish-themed meal of burgers, milkshakes and more at Square Burger in the new Moore Square. Bring money for food and drinks. 

15. Family Wildlife Series: Howl-O-Ween

Saturday, October 26th  | 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  | Blue Jay Point County Park, Raleigh

Family program for ages 5 years and up. Learn all about the reintroduction of Red Wolves into the N. C. wilds and about the expansion of coyotes into N.C. territory. Pre-registration is required.

16. Boo at the Zoo 

Saturday, October 26th & Sunday, October 27th.  |  N.C. Zoo, Asheboro

Come celebrate Halloween at the Zoo! Trick-or-treat games, live music, entertainment, face painting, animal encounters and a popular children’s costume contest. Tickets for Boo can be purchased at the entrance gates.

17. Hogwarts Halloween in the Great Hall with Read With Me!

Saturday, October 26th  |  5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  |  Read With Me, A Children’s Book & Art Shop, Raleigh

Wear your best Hogwart’s attire! Celebrate All Hallow’s Eve at Hogwarts with potions, pumpkins, food and fun!  Create magical crafts, enjoy food, brew up some potions, and decorate a Potteresque pumpkin and more. This is a ticketed event.

18. Halloween in The Village

Sunday, October 27th  |  2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  |  Lafayette Village, Raleigh

Enjoy a family-friendly celebration with trick-or-treating amongst participating merchants at Lafayette Village. Don’t miss character visits from princesses and super-heroes.
