Safe Kids Day - Raleigh Moms BlogSafe Kids Day 

Saturday, April 29th.  10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Green Road Park, Raleigh

FREE fun family event featuring interactive displays and fun games on childhood injury prevention and safety. Come enjoy emergency vehicle tours and meet local businesses. Volunteer opportunities available.

 

 

 

 

Songbird Celebration - Raleigh Moms BlogSongbird Celebration

Saturday, April 29th.  11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Blue Jay County Park, Raleigh

Free event. Celebrate 20 years of the Songbird Celebration family festival highlighting the importance of  “Stopover Sites: Helping Birds Along the Way.” Come enjoy bird-related activities, games and crafts, preschool story-times, bird hikes for adults and kids, learning stations and more!  Baguettaboutit Food Truck will be on hand or pack a picnic lunch!Pre-registration for our many FREE hikes and classes are recommended. ArtScene 2017 – The Annual Spring Teen Event

Saturday, April 29th.  1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  NC Museum of Art, Raleigh

FREE event. Teens will learn, play, socialize, and create in a variety of interactive experiences. Catch live music performances by local teens, a juried exhibition show by teens, collaborative art making, guided meditation and much more. 

Town of Apex Special Needs Fishing Derby - Raleigh Moms BlogSpecial Needs Fishing Derby

Saturday, April 29th.  9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  Seagroves Park, Apex

Free event for all ages. The Town of Apex is having their first Fishing Derby for people with disabilities. Rods, reels and bait will be provided. Wheelchairs are welcome and no experience is necessary. The North Carolina Wildlife Commission and Boy Scout Troup 209 of Apex will be providing volunteers. Pre-registration is required.

 

 

Touch-A-Truck

Sunday, April 30th.  1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Junior League of Raleigh

Kids of all ages are granted an all-access pass to explore, climb, and touch vehicles from – big rigs, emergency response vehicles to heavy machinery.  There will be a “no horn or lights” hour from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Food trucks will also be on-site. Cost: $5 per person, children 1 and under are free.

Family Sundae – Dios de los Ninos!

Sunday, April 30th.  12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  CAM Raleigh (Contemporary Art Museum)

FREE admission.  CAM Raleigh is partnering with the Consulate of Mexico in Raleigh for this special Family Sundae event. Join in for a day of family fun featuring a guided tour in Spanish at 2pm, make-and-take art projects in the Creation Station, student docents, DJ and our famous “create your own sundaes” where the ice cream is the canvas and the toppings are the paint!
