Live and Local: Roots Fest 2017

Saturday, September 23rd.  12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  Hillsborough Street, Raleigh

Festival celebrating the roots of North Carolina music and arts.  Live music, art demonstrations, a kids zone, a pet adoption event, storytimes and so much more. This is a free event.

4th Annual Dragon Boat Festival

Saturday, September 23rd. 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Koka Booth Amphitheatre, Cary

Dragon boat racing, live performances, food vendors, games for kids, cultural and health information booths and much more.  Celebrate Asian culture with a day full of family fun!

Threads of Africa: A Celebration of Art, Nature, and People

Saturday, September 23rd.  Noon.  East Building at the NC Museum of Art, Raleigh

Enjoy this daylong celebration of African Art and the newly reinstalled African Art Gallery. Experience music and dance performances, drum-making workshops, collaborative community art activities, food and more all in the Museum Park. This is a FREE event.

North Raleigh Dog Wash

Saturday, September 23rd.  1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Whole Foods Market North Raleigh, 8710 Six Forks Rd.

Whole Foods Market in North Raleigh will host a dog wash benefitting The SPCA of Wake County. Proceeds will go to support the protection, shelter and adoption of homeless animals. Families will enjoy live music, hands-on activities, food and more! Click here to learn more. This is a FREE event.

La Fiesta del Pueblo 2017

Sunday, September 24th.  12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Fayetteville Street, Downtown Raleigh

Take part in this traditional celebration of Latino food, music, art and culture. Families will enjoy live music, performances, games and more. Don’t forget to catch up on all the events happening around Raleigh celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. 

Take A Child Outside Week: Scavenger Hunt
