Spring Break is here for traditional calendar students! Let the countdown to summer break begin! The Triangle is full of fun activities to do with your kids. Make some memories with your kiddos this year with Raleigh Moms Blog list of Top Ten Things to do During Spring Break! 

  1. Go strawberry picking! Strawberry season is here! Grab a bucket and fill it full of delicious local strawberries! Many of the local strawberry farms offer homemade ice cream and play areas. Find the strawberry farm nearest to you here
  2. See the stars! Head to Morehead Planetarium for a trip through space! 
  3. Go for a swim! Who says you have to wait for summer to break out the swim suits? Drag out your swimming gear and head to an indoor pool for a day of fun! Local options include Buffalo Road Aquatic Center, Pullen Aquatic Center, and Triangle Aquatic Center
  4. Take a hike! Head outdoors for a day of exploration! Our favorite hiking spots include Umstead Park, Raven Rock State Park, and Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve
  5. Have a picnic! Pack a lunch, a blanket and head outdoors! Bring your favorite books, some jump ropes, or a soccer ball for a little fun. Our favorite picnicking spots include Duke Gardens, WRAL Gardens, and Raleigh Little Theater Rose Garden
  6. Park hop! Skip your local regular spots and head across town for a little adventure! Pullen Park in Raleigh, Knightdale Station Park, and Crowder Park in Apex are all excellent options!
  7. Take a day trip! There are lots of great cities within driving distance of the Triangle. Leave early in the morning and you’ll be back by bedtime! See our favorite day trips here
  8. Visit the NC Science Festival! Let the learning continue with events all over the state! There’s something for kids of all ages at various locations throughout the Triangle, happening all week long! Learn more here
  9. Go camping! Set up in your backyard or head to Jordan Lake for a little sleeping under the stars!
