If you are a woman between the ages of 25 and, roughly, 40 years old, this is the order of operations when tackling any of life’s tasks and dilemmas:
Bored at work – hit up Pinterest
What’s for dinner – hit up Pinterest
Hosting a party – hit up Pinterest
Just got engaged – hit up Pinterest
About to have a baby – hit up Pinterest
Not sure how many of you out there actually attempt to recreate/do/buy the things you Pin, but for me, my ratio is about 1:97. For every 97 Pins pinned, I might follow through on 1….maybe.
Once we found out we were having a boy, Gavin, I knew I wanted a “manly” themed room and one that was pieced together with some original touches from both my husband and I. My husband is in the construction business and everyone that knows him, knows his love and passion for it. When I came across the pegboard idea I knew this would be perfect! Its customizable, functional, space-saving and decorative all in one; not to mention it is very easy and inexpensive to create!
Pegboard – We had an extra one in our shed but you can find one at Lowes Home Improvement: $8.58
Pegboard Baskets: $9.97 for a pack of 3 at Home Depot
Pegboard Straight Peg Hook: $0.98/each at Home Depot
Clock: $4.99 at Target
Hanging toy – $8.49 at Target
We chose to install ours directly over Gavin’s vintage, refinished dresser. We, then, added a changing pad to the dresser top, diapering needs, and other décor to the board to create a pegboard changing station/personalized focal piece. You can glam up your pegboard for your little girl’s room, paint your board for a more colorful room, or even throw in some mason jars for additional storage and a country-chic feel.
Happy creating, ladies! PS if you try this or have created something similar, we would love to see your pictures! Tag us on Instagram using @raleighmomsblog!
